It's hard to quit smoking. It takes, on the average, 7 attempts before a person can quit smoking. The older you are the better are your chances. You can improve your chances is by getting help. According to the statistics even reading this will help improve your chances. The first thing you should do is get a plan. The first step to that plan is to get help from  medical professional. Do the things in the previous section. You are not the only smoker that wants to quit. I'm within a couple of weeks of beating the the nicotine cravings. The LPN I talked to talked to me about slowly cutting back. It's taken a couple of years but I'm almost there. I kept on cutting back, but I really hadn't put total effort in it. Now later, I wish I had developed a plan to quit in a year.  I didn't use any aids. I tried the aids and it wasn't a miracle for me. CHRIS. MAY 5 1014.
Some of those who read this are afraid they will gain weight if they stop smoking.  To lose weight, eat less and exercise more. I recommend walking. Not a fast pace--just a normal walk. Try to walk for an hour a day if you can. I don't believe in running, because you jar your joints. If you quit smoking you will have more money and you will be tempted to spend it on sweets, because they taste great.  Your taste isn't blindsided by the smoke residue that was all around you. I've gone to weight loss classes. The only thing it left me with was to eat a cup of vegetables with your dinner along with your entree after your salad. Switch to ranch dressing. Avoid fat and sugars. CHRIS MAY5 2014.

When things get tough the tough stand and take it. One of the problems you must endure is excuses to not quit. You must use your willpower to overcome the withdrawal cravings.. Saying your to old to quit or I was meant to smoke is the demon of nicotine. You must muster your willpower to overcome the cravings. There are no easy answers to the excuses of why you can't quit. You must believe and know for a certainity if you quit smoking in a few plus weeks the cravings will go away. Like a Canadian goverment TV ad said, 'I guess it was my time to quit.'  CHRIS MAY6 2014
